Protecting the Mid-Valley Requires Action—Your Support Matters
The character, safety, and infrastructure of the Mid-Valley face a critical turning point. The proposed 163-unit EJ Crossing development threatens to place urban-level density directly into established suburban neighborhoods, straining local roads and dangerously impacting emergency evacuation corridors along Highway 82 and Missouri Heights.
While workforce housing is an essential goal across the valley, forcing a massive high-density project into an already failing intersection creates a severe life-safety issue. Opposing EJ Crossing in its current form is not about stopping growth; it is about demanding smart, responsible planning that prioritizes infrastructure, environmental integrity, and public safety.
Corporate developers bring deep financial resources and extensive PR campaigns to push their agenda. Donations to Save Mid-Valley provide the grassroots leverage needed to stand toe-to-toe with developers. As a public citizen group we must demonstrate to decision-makers what does and does not comply with the land use code, community plans and state policy. First, we must identify an issue, then we must fully understand the issue, make a convincing argument with proof, tie it to standards, and go through channels to get that information to decision makers.
Where Your Contributions Make a Difference
Independent Technical Audits: Developers submit their own studies to justify land use. Contributions allow Save Mid-Valley to retain independent traffic engineers, hydrologists, and environmental consultants to audit developer claims regarding traffic surge modeling, drainage, and wetland impacts.
Specialized Legal Counsel: Navigating Eagle County land-use processes and 1041 regulations requires expert legal representation. Funding ensures legal counsel can formally oppose fast-tracked approvals, challenge unsafe infrastructure waivers, and enforce strict regulatory oversight.
Community Mobilization & Awareness: A unified community is the strongest defense. Donations fund local awareness campaigns, mailers, lawn signs, and public meeting alerts that ensure residents are informed and ready to speak out at critical Eagle County hearings.
Developers are actively seeking quiet support and fast approvals. A strong, well-resourced community advocacy effort is the only way to ensure local roads stay safe, evacuation routes remain clear, and county commissioners enforce meaningful standards.
Consider making a donation to Save Mid-Valley today to protect the future and safety of our community. All donations are maintained in a joint account at Alpine Back. Donation/Bank records will be made available upon request.
